3:00-5:00 pm Metabolic Testing from A-Z: How to Use Metabolic Testing to Treat a Wide Range of Ailments, with Mark Schauss, MBA, DB
Laboratory testing is one of the most powerful tools the practitioner can avail themselves of in order to promote true healing. The correct selection of tests and their interpretation is critical in developing an individualized nutritional support protocol for each patient. In this talk, Dr. Schauss will discuss how to select the most appropriate tests based on a range of clinical presentations and how to interpret and act upon them in order to get the best clinical results possible.
Mark Schauss, MBA, DB is an internationally acclaimed lab expert who has spent the past twenty years creating clinically applicable interpretive reports for laboratory tests. In his two decades of research, Dr. Schauss has gained comprehensive insight into a range of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, autism, ADHD, and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as an array of other health problems. As lead developer of two US patents on disease patterning and medical diagnostic systems, Dr. Schauss has led a team to develop an interpretive laboratory report known as LabAssist™. He has lectured internationally from South America to Europe to Asia as well in the U.S and Canada on laboratory testing, environmental toxicity, and has worked closely with hundreds of practitioners on the clinical application of the unique biochemical metabolic testing. Dr. Schauss is the author of the recently published book, Achieving Victory Over a Toxic World.

7:45-8:00 am The Five Most Important Things I Have Learned in My Nutrition Practice: Robert Crayhon, MS 8:00-9:00 am The Five Levels of Health and Healing – A Practical Model for Truly Integrative Health Care: Dietrich Klinghardt MD, PhD
Several thousand years ago this system of applied philosophy emerged in Patanjali’s famous yoga sutras. This system is the basis for Dr. Klinghardt’s integrative healing system that he has developed over his career and that he uses with such success in his practice. The physical body is the realm of the five senses. The main cause of illness on this level today is - aside from structural injury - the plethora of biochemical problems caused by environmental toxicity.
The most important injury is the critical physiological change of the inner milieu. As a consequence a multitude of microbes establish their housekeeping inside of us (molds, Borrelia and co-infections, viruses, mycoplasma and parasites). Balancing the biochemistry is merely a symptomatic treatment. Detoxification and treatment of the opportunistic infections often give the longed-for long term results. In his lecture, Dietrich will discuss the most important issues, diagnostic methods and positive practical solutions on each level. The lecture is intended to help practitioners to comfortably look beyond biochemistry to nutrition on the higher levels. Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD, is founder of the American Academy of Neural Therapy (www.neuraltherapy.com), Medical Director of the Institute of Neurobiology, and Lead Clinician at the Comprehensive Medical Center – all located in Bellevue, Washington. He has been synthesizing traditional and alternative medicine for more than 32 years. Internationally known for his successful treatment of chronic pain and illness, Dr. Klinghardt’s holistic technique combines Neural Therapy with principles of non-surgical orthopedic medicine. His unique approach to diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders on both the functional-physical and mental-emotional levels recognizes that health is significantly influenced by and dependent upon: • A balanced and well-functioning autonomic nervous system. • A healthy mind that creates a balanced emotional state. • A supportive system of relationships within current and past generations of the family structure. In Germany, Dr. Klinghardt studied medicine, acupuncture and homeopathy. After earning his medical degree, he studied psychology, conducting three years of research on the dysfunction in autoimmune disorders at Albert Ludwig University in Freiberg, and earned a PhD for his work on the autonomic nervous system. Dr. Klinghardt selected the involvement of the autoimmune system and collagen in vascular diseases as the topic for his PhD thesis. 9:00-10:30 am Fatty Acids, Inflammation and Healthy Aging: William Lands, PhD
The molecular events that sustain health are studied by many biomedical researchers. Health maintenance is an alternate view of disease prevention. Many chronic diseases that impair health involve inflammation with cell migration and adhesion, which is amplified by hormones made from omega-6 fatty acids. The processes are moderated by having competing omega-3 fatty acids in the responding tissues. This situation makes voluntary food choices a vital tool in primary prevention of the chronic diseases that are exacerbated by omega-6 eicosanoids. Knowing likely mechanisms of these mediators of disease helps define foods that can prevent illness and promote optimal wellness. William Lands, PhD, was Professor at Michigan (1955-1980) and Illinois (1980-1991), studying fat metabolism. He has authored over 250 scientific papers as well as the book, Fish, Omega-3 and Human Health. One of the world's 1000 most cited scientists in 1965-1978, he received numerous awards including the 1979 Verhagen Lectureship at Rotterdam University, honorary membership in the Australian Rheumatism Association, the Pfizer Biomedical Research Award (1985), and the International Society for Study of Fatty Acids and Lipid’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2006). Dr. Lands was also selected as a Fellow of The American Association for the Advancement of Science, The Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine, as well as the American Society of Nutrition. He directed research at the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism at the National Institutes of Health from1990 to 2002, and continues to lecture widely on the benefits of optimal fatty acid intake and ratios.
11:00 am - 12:00 noon Parent Essential Fatty Acids, Oxygenation and Cancer Prevention: A New Solution: Brian Peskin, BSEE
Both cancer and cardiovascular disease have reached epidemic levels in the US and around the world despite the litany of medical and nutritional recommendations. Brian’s presentation will explain precisely why followers of the conventional wisdom in this area are to be questioned. Most importantly, it will provide a strategy to successfully avoid either of these diseases based on the meticulous research of Nobel Prize-winner Otto Warburg, MD, PhD. Brian Peskin earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979, and founded the field of Life-Systems Engineering Science in 1995. He was appointed adjunct professor in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Texas Southern University (1998-1999). He is chief research scientist for Cambridge International Institute of Medical Science. For more information, visit www.brianpeskin.com.

Physical, emotional and chemical stress can creates a range of damaging nutritional and hormonal effects on the body. We must counter these effects through diet, lifestyle, and an optimal exercise program in order to prevent stress from causing disease. Dr. Siebrecht will outline a program he has been found powerful in its ability to protect both the body and brain from the many disease-causing molecular byproducts of chronic stress.
Dr. Stefan Siebrecht holds a PHD in organic chemistry. He worked for several years for the pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme as a scientific representative in the cardiovascular sector. In 1996 he joined LONZA where he was responsible for market development, science and sales of nutrients for human and animal nutrition in Europe. Since January 2003 Dr. Siebrecht has been the President of the German "Society of nutritionial science" GFE in Neu-Ulm Germany, a foundation of food companies who are interested in research and development of new and safe ingredients and compounds for food products. In June 2004 Dr. Siebrecht joined the dutch company DSM as global Director for Marketing and Sales PeptoPro®, a new milk peptide ingredient. He has worked together with scientists and authors to create and publish several books about nutrition and health, supplements, skin care, anti aging and sports nutrition.
2:30-3:30 pm The Dangers of Genetically Modified Foods: Jeffery Smith
Working with more than 30 scientists, Jeffrey Smith has documented 65 health risks of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). His talk will describe thousands of sick, sterile, and dead livestock, thousands of toxic and allergic-type reactions in humans, and damage to virtually every organ and system studied in lab animals. He will show how government assessments are not competent to even identify most of the risks and how industry research is rigged to avoid finding them. He will also explain what we can do to protect our families and patients, and a powerful new initiative that can rid the US food supply of these high-risk foods.
Jeffrey M. Smith is an author and researcher who is a leading spokesperson on the health dangers of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). He captured public attention in 2003 with the publication of his first book on the serious yet unknown side effects of genetically engineered foods, Seeds of Deception: Exposing Industry and Government Lies about the Safety of the Genetically Engineered Foods You’re Eating. In his second book, Genetic Roulette: The Documented Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods, Mr. Smith revealed insider documents about GMO safety trials and showed how the world’s most powerful Ag biotech companies bluff and mislead critics, Congress and the FDA about food safety research behind the foods Americans buy every day.

11:15 am -12:00 pm The Effects of CaNa2EDTA Chelation Suppositories to Chelate Toxic Metals and Reduce Prostate Disorders: Rita Ellithorpe, MD
Can suppositories offer an approach to support toxic metal elimination? Dr. Rita Ellithorpe was the principle investigator in a pre-clinical pharmacokinetic study and an IRB-approved clinical trial, both centered on evaluation of calcium disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate (CaNa2 EDTA) chelation suppositories. The pre-clinical study compared radio-labeled rectal suppositories to IV administration for the evaluation of absorption, brain and prostate tissue distribution and excretion of EDTA. Once bioavailability and prostate tissue concentration of EDTA were determined in the pre-clinical study, a ninety-day clinical trial was conducted to determine the effects of CaNa2 EDTA suppositories in combination with tetracycline on prostate disorders. Significant improvements in chronic prostatitis, pain and urinary symptoms were observed as well as excretions of a variety of toxic heavy metals post treatment.
Rita Ellithorpe, MD, received her medical degree in 1982 from The Chicago Medical School/University of Health Science in North Chicago, IL. From there she completed her internship in family practice at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC in 1983.
